Normal piercings:
Your body produces a natural fluid called lymph. It is a clear fluid. That is
what needs to be cleaned off. It is cleaned with saline. The reason we use
saline is because the body contains both salt and water. There is nothing
unnatural for your body to reject.
You can purchase contact lens saline solution at any drug store or other
store such as Wal-Mart.
Clean the area three times a day with saline and a Q-Tip.
Clean top and bottom of piercing and rotate jewelry (Morning Afternoon &
Night)
When in the shower, wash entire body (including hair) stand under water
and rotate jewelry to rinse out any soap or other body fluids.
If your piercing becomes tight or extra dry, it is acceptable to use a small
amount of bacitracin or A&D ointment only placed via q-tip. Wipe off any
excess after rotating jewelry.
Oral Piercings:
Your piercing will be swollen for at least a week. To reduce swelling,
ibuprofen and freez-ee pops.
It is important to eat food soft in nature such as mashed potatoes, soup,
macaroni and cheese. Any food that has little chewing or irritation to the
piercing is best.
If you cannot eat anything at all, please use supplement products such as
Slim Fast, Boost, or Ensure. They provide the vitamins and minerals
necessary to maintain proper health. If you do not keep your vitamin level
up, you will get a white coating over your tongue. That is a vitamin
deficiency. Take a one a day vitamin for a few days and that will clear the
substance up.
Rinse with any antiseptic mouthwash (other than SCOPE) the piercing after
putting anything in your mouth other than water or freez-ee pops for
approximately 6-8 weeks. If you smoke, rinse after every 2 or 3 cigarettes
No alcoholic beverages for 2-3 days but if you must drink, stay away from
beer and wine because they do contain yeast which may give you a yeast
infection in your mouth.
Genital Piercings:
Urinate into your hand, rotate jewelry back and forth.
Follow behind with bacitracin or A&D ointment at least 3 times a day.
When in the shower, wash entire body (including hair) stand under water
and rotate jewelry to rinse out any soap or other body fluids.
Follow behind with bacitracin or A&D ointment at least 3 times a day.
No heavy “action” or major stress for at least 6 weeks. Common sense says
that if it hurts, don’t do it.
